The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A telegraphed right hand from Kosar misses the target.
Kosar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gijs's hands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gijs lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kosar quite badly. Kosar pulls Gijs in close trying to recover. Gijs postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kosar on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kosar doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bolle Gijs! Bolle Gijs retains his heavyweight title!
