Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anakoni Kai (ranked 2463 p4p, 23762 weight class) and Brendan Schaub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anakoni Kai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brendan Schaub!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schaub tries to clinch but Kai moves out of range.
Schaub looks for a takedown but Kai sprawls well.
Kai appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kai misses with a wild combination.
Kai dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Schaub or perhaps it was just good defense by Kai, which made it look bad.
Kai is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kai just misses with a punch to the body.
Schaub with a poor takedown
and Kai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Anakoni Kai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Schaub.
Kai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Schaub, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kai is trying to trip Schaub. He has hold of a leg but Schaub is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kai persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Kai slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kai sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schaub's guard.
Kai has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Schaub defend it? Kai steps over the head and cranks it - Schaub is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kai!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Anakoni Kai!
