Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karson Caldwell!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Liam Plecak!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plecak throws a head kick that misses
and Caldwell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Liam Plecak has been cut.
Caldwell lands with a right hand.
Plecak closes the distance but Caldwell moves to the side
letting Caldwell counter with a right hand.
Caldwell connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Plecak's hands.
Caldwell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Plecak fails in his attempt to clinch.
Plecak takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Plecak is rocked!
Plecak misses with a kick to the body.
Plecak has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Plecak there as he acknowledges the shot.
Plecak is still on wobbly legs! Can Caldwell finish him?
Plecak takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Plecak tries to clinch up.
An attempted straight right counter from Caldwell misses the target.
Plecak seems to have recovered his senses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Plecak closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Plecak tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Caldwell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Caldwell was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Caldwell digs a good hook to Plecak's body.
Caldwell scores with a hook to the body. Plecak takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Nice uppercut there from Caldwell.
Caldwell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Caldwell connects with a nice cross there... Plecak is looking wobbly and Caldwell recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Plecak to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Caldwell jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Karson Caldwell!
Karson Caldwell retains his middleweight title!
A relieved looking Karson Caldwell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
