Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hightower (ranked 49 p4p, 955 weight class) and Wanderlei Rua (ranked 5 p4p, 113 weight class). Hightower comes into the arena with The Power blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 44 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jason Hightower!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Rua!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hightower at a distance.
Hightower slips under a jab from Rua.
Nice cross by Hightower.
It looks like Wanderlei Rua has been cut.
Rua with a nice calf kick.
Rua misses with a straight left.
Hightower tries to move into range but Rua moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A chopping leg kick lands by Rua.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rua. Hightower does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rua throws a leg kick
and Hightower counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hightower keeps Rua at a distance using the push kick.
Rua just misses with a punch to the body.
Hightower has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blacktalians MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Hightower lands a left and a right that send Rua crashing to the mat, dazed. Hightower thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hightower drops Rua with a straight right hand, right on the button! Hightower follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Hightower!
Jason Hightower decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
