Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Beneke (ranked 1320 p4p, 1079 weight class) and Richie Alaska (ranked 200 p4p, 157 weight class). Alaska has chosen A Long December - Counting Crows as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Beneke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Richie Alaska! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beneke digs a good body shot into Alaska's ribs. Nice straight punches there by Beneke. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Beneke. A punch lands to the side of Alaska 's head but he takes it in his stride. Beneke connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Alaska fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beneke manages to avoid it. Alaska ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beneke moves away. Beneke lands a nice hook to Alaska's body. Alaska takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Beneke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Alaska. Alaska scores with a body shot.

Alaska manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Alaska is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Beneke rather than just go for the knockout. Alaska shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beneke scores with a hook to the body. Alaska takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A left lands for Beneke. Beneke throws a nice looking combination but Alaska bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Beneke takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

A little nod from Beneke there as he acknowledges the shot. Alaska takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Alaska needs to keep his hands up - Beneke had a free shot at his head there. Alaska scores with a jab. Beneke acknowledges it with a nod of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alaska just misses with a punch to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Beneke. That's going to slow Alaska down. Beneke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alaska to the mat! Alaska manages to get full guard. Alaska trying to control the position.
Alaska has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beneke can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beneke wants to get up but he can't break Alaska's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Mark Beneke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Beneke is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Alaska has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Beneke is looking to defend but Alaska has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Beneke! Alaska pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Beneke taps out and this one is all over!
