Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Trujillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reed Friedman!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friedman misses with a double jab.
Trujillo thinks about countering with a head kick.
Friedman wants to clinch
and Trujillo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Trujillo is trying to break the clinch but Friedman is controlling him.
Trujillo wants to get back to striking at distance but Friedman won't allow it.
Trujillo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trujillo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Trujillo circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Trujillo to counter with a crisp jab.

Friedman clinches with his opponent.
Trujillo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Friedman is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Trujillo is defending well for now.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Trujillo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Friedman clinches up with Trujillo and pushes him back against the cage.
Trujillo wants to get back to striking at distance but Friedman won't allow it.
Trujillo is trying to break the clinch but Friedman has him pressed against the cage.
Friedman jumps guard but Trujillo stands there with Friedman around his waist. Friedman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Friedman tries to score a body lock takedown but Trujillo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Friedman wants the takedown. Trujillo is fighting it off but Friedman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Trujillo's guard against the cage.

Trujillo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Friedman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Friedman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Friedman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trujillo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Trujillo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Friedman wants to pass the guard but Trujillo is keeping the position.
Friedman passes Trujillo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Friedman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Trujillo is trying to get back to full guard.
Trujillo is trying to maintain the position but Friedman is very close to passing his half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
