PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Allen Douglas (ranked 4115 p4p, 4254 weight class) and Melvin Van Manhoef (ranked 418 p4p, 435 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas throws a jab when Van Manhoef was well out of range.
Douglas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Allen Douglas has been cut.
Douglas misses with an attempted mid kick.
Van Manhoef connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Douglas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Douglas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Douglas tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Manhoef's corner calls for a 1-2. Van Manhoef obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Douglas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Van Manhoef tests Douglas's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Van Manhoef throws the left hand but Douglas avoids the punch easily.
Douglas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Manhoef moves away.
Douglas walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Douglas is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
