PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raiden Cervantes (ranked 4018 p4p, 4466 weight class) and Deon Fuentes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raiden Cervantes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deon Fuentes!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cervantes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fuentes to the ground. Cervantes is now in Fuentes's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fuentes has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cervantes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fuentes.
Cervantes is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cervantes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fuentes wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fuentes wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Fuentes is trying to work for a sweep but Cervantes has mounted him!

Cervantes postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fuentes looks a forlorn figure.

It looks like Deon Fuentes has been cut.

Cervantes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cervantes postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Fuentes badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Cervantes around the waist but Cervantes pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Cervantes is the winner by TKO! Cervantes jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

During a confident post fight interview, Raiden Cervantes thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
