Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lawson Serrano (ranked 499 p4p, 554 weight class) and Larry LeFell (ranked 67 p4p, 76 weight class). Lawson Serrano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lawson Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry LeFell!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serrano tries for a takedown but LeFell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
LeFell tries to clinch there but Serrano circles away.

LeFell moves into the clinch successfully.
Serrano wants a takedown but no success here.
LeFell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Serrano prevents a takedown attempt there.
LeFell stops a takedown attempt from Serrano.

Serrano drops to a knee looking for a takedown but LeFell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as LeFell takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Serrano shoots in and drives through. LeFell sprawls well.
LeFell tries to clinch there but Serrano circles away.

LeFell is trying to drag Serrano to the mat but Serrano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Serrano is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. LeFell can't fight it off and eventually Serrano manages to take the fight to the floor. LeFell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
LeFell wants to stand but Serrano is controlling the position.

Serrano stands up over LeFell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

LeFell tries to close the distance and clinch but Serrano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

LeFell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Serrano, pushing him back against the cage.
Serrano is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
LeFell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Serrano wants to improve his position but instead LeFell has moved into half guard.
LeFell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Serrano keeps working.

LeFell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Serrano does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Serrano fails to land the takedown.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Serrano gets a takedown into half guard.
LeFell tries to kick Serrano off in order to stand up. Serrano Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
LeFell is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Serrano is controlling him well.

LeFell regains half guard there - taking advantage of Serrano's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Larry LeFell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Serrano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We've been hearing good reports from Serrano's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Larry LeFell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think LeFell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
