The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters has his takedown stuffed
and Gers counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Horrible takedown attempt by Waters or perhaps it was just good defense by Gers, which made it look bad.

Waters throws out a counter right but Gers avoids it with no problem.
Gers throws a leg kick but Waters moved away.

Gers drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Waters looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Waters looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Waters!

Gers is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Waters is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Waters is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gers knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gers for a finish.

Gers has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Gers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Waters on the ground.

Waters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Waters is tightening it up a little... Gers has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gers reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gers taps out! Nice BJJ there by Waters!
