Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angus Mac Murchadha (ranked 4477 p4p, 4759 weight class) and Johnny Sawyer (ranked 466 p4p, 484 weight class). Mac Murchadha comes to the cage accompanied by We Were Soldiers. Sawyer has chosen Dion - The Wanderer as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Angus Mac Murchadha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Sawyer! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mac Murchadha throws a combination that misses and Sawyer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mac Murchadha fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sawyer to the ground. Mac Murchadha is now in Sawyer's guard. Sawyer manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sawyer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mac Murchadha.
Sawyer ducks under a wild hook from Mac Murchadha. Mac Murchadha keeps the fight on the outside. Sawyer throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sawyer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mac Murchadha. Mac Murchadha changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Sawyer throws a hook but Mac Murchadha avoids it easily. Mac Murchadha darts in looking for a takedown but Sawyer gets double underhooks and turns Mac Murchadha into the cage. A nice side step and Sawyer releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. This has been an exciting period of action! Sawyer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mac Murchadha backwards. Sawyer lands an elbow just above Mac Murchadha 's eye. Sawyer goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Sawyer tries to work over Mac Murchadha's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Mac Murchadha misses with a hook from the clinch. Sawyer tries to throw a body punch but Mac Murchadha avoids it by throwing Sawyer back against the cage. Sawyer tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mac Murchadha's elbow. Sawyer lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mac Murchadha.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mac Murchadha is working for takedown but Sawyer is calmly controlling the position for now. Mac Murchadha is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angus Mac Murchadha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mac Murchadha is trying to pull guard but Sawyer has him pressed against the cage. Mac Murchadha tries to score a body lock takedown but Sawyer shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Sawyer lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Sawyer pushes Mac Murchadha back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Sawyer lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Sawyer fails to land. Mac Murchadha drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sawyer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sawyer moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Mac Murchadha takes a body punch but keeps moving. Mac Murchadha keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sawyer. A looping hook to the body misses from Mac Murchadha. Sawyer does a little dance to reset his feet. Sawyer wants to counter the offense by Mac Murchadha and move into the clinch position. Sawyer connects with a right hand. Mac Murchadha shakes it off. Sawyer lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mac Murchadha is rocked! Mac Murchadha looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sawyer cracks Mac Murchadha's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Mac Murchadha slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Sawyer can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johnny Sawyer! After winning the bout, Johnny Sawyer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
