Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edgar John!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John lands a jab to Stephens's midsection.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that John has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
John misses with a few strikes there.
Stephens misses with a takedown
and John counters with a left to the body.
John fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

John has managed to clinch.

Stephens fails to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

John breaks from the clinch.

John rushes Stephens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

John pulls guard successfully.

Stephens wants to pass the guard but John is keeping the position.
Stephens looking to sit in guard and control but John gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stephens is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and John defends well.
Stephens tries to land a sweep but no joy.

John got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stephens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, John has managed to get both his arms back between Stephens's legs - danger averted.
Stephens definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Stephens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. John gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stephens quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! John has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Stephens celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
