Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Crazy Horse closes this distance looking for a takedown but Phoenix circles away. Phoenix takes the fight into the clinch. Phoenix drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crazy Horse is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Let's hope that Crazy Horse has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Phoenix looking for a sweep. Not yet Phoenix, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crazy Horse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phoenix swivels though and keeps the full guard. Phoenix seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Phoenix is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Phoenix is trying to control the position but Crazy Horse postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Crazy Horse controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Phoenix working a defensive guard but Crazy Horse passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points and both fighters attempted the same number of subs, we will decide the bout based on the toss of a coin! Phoenix is heads and Crazy Horse is tails. The coin is in the air and it lands... tails! Crazy Horse wins on points by 1 to 0. William Crazy Horse decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. In defeat, Blake Phoenix stepped up to the mic, saying 'WTF? You've got to be kidding me!'. |
