This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 21 losses; Mean Gean! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Slim Perkins! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Gean dives in for a single leg takedown but Perkins sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Perkins changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Perkins stops a takedown attempt from Gean.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perkins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gean has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
