Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roland Verse (ranked 5311 p4p, 25207 weight class) and Georges StPierra (ranked 540 p4p, 568 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roland Verse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Georges StPierra!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verse lunges at StPierra with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by StPierra's hand.
Verse ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Verse tries for a takedown but StPierra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
StPierra has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Verse leaves StPierra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
StPierra looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Verse stalks StPierra and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into StPierra's face. StPierra staggers backwards, shaken.

StPierra is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

StPierra winds up and cracks Verse with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
StPierra working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
StPierra is nestled in close to Verse, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

StPierra seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Verse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for StPierra on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

StPierra lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
