PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 539 p4p, 911 weight class) and Little Bandit (ranked 36 p4p, 67 weight class). Dux comes into the arena with Bloodsport blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Dux!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Little Bandit!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux ducks under a wild hook from Bandit.
Bandit scores with a jab.
Bandit leaves Dux with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bandit throws out a counter right but Dux avoids it with no problem.
Dux uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bandit.
Dux fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dux has managed to clinch.

Bandit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dux tries to clinch up but Bandit circles away and keeps his distance.
Dux fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bandit avoids it really well and circles away.
Dux ducks under a wild hook from Bandit.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dux looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dux looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Dux feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dux keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bandit's head.

Bandit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dux can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dux stands up over Bandit, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bandit had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dux defends it easily.
Dux wants to control from the top but Bandit keeps moving.

Bandit has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dux is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bandit.
Dux connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bandit some visible discomfort.

Bandit is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Bandit takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Dux wants to control but Bandit is keeping him busy.
Bandit is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dux asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Dux really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bandit tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dux trying to control the action but Bandit is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bandit is looking for a sweep.
Dux working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Dux lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bandit is trying to get back to his feet.
Bandit is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Dux is looking to take a break and control but Bandit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dux will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dux cracks Bandit with a big right hand but Bandit just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Dux lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bandit is rocked!
Dux lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bandit is still in real trouble! Can Dux finish him?
Dux scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bandit is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Dux can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Dux!
