Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Merab Skibo (ranked 4986 p4p, 3612 weight class) and Pete Stamp (ranked 396 p4p, 339 weight class). Merab Skibo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Merab Skibo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Stamp! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skibo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Stamp lands a nice looking body shot.
Stamp lands with a right hand. Stamp scores with a jab to the body. Stamp lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Skibo at a distance.
Stamp moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Skibo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Skibo drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Skibo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stamp is trying to keep Skibo in close.
Stamp managing to control the position. Skibo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Skibo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skibo preventing the sweep. Stamp is looking to stand up but Skibo isn't so interested in that idea. Skibo wants to get up but he can't break Stamp's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Skibo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Skibo is looking to work some ground and pound but Stamp has wrist control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Skibo has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Stamp pulls Skibo in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stamp works the jab nicely. Skibo throws a leg kick which misses Stamp's front leg but catches the back leg as Stamp tries to avoid it. Skibo takes a shot right to the bread basket. Stamp works Skibo's body with a nice hook. Stamp lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stamp.

Stamp moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Stamp moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice straight punches there by Stamp. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Stamp. Pete Stamp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Skibo takes one to the side of the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stamp has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Stamp scores with a punch to the head. Skibo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Skibo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stamp sprawls well. Stamp wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Skibo gets slowly back to his feet. Skibo darts in looking for a takedown but Stamp gets double underhooks and turns Skibo into the ropes. Skibo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Stamp digs a good hook to Skibo's body.

Stamp scores with a punch to the head. Stamp connects with a crisp jab. Skibo walks into a jab. Pete Stamp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Skibo shoots in and bounces Stamp off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Stamp wants to hit a sweep here but Skibo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Stamp there! Skibo goes for an armbar but Stamp turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Stamp. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stamp avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stamp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Skibo is keeping the position for now. Skibo keeping moving, preventing Stamp from controlling successfully. Stamp stays in close to Skibo's body and controls the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Stamp won't allow Skibo to sweep him here. Skibo looking for a guillotine here but Stamp defends easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pete Stamp dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Skibo shoots in for a takedown but Stamp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Stamp has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Stamp lands a nice shot that snaps Skibo's head back.
Stamp leaves Skibo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Merab Skibo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Skibo tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Stamp manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Skibo tries for a takedown but Stamp sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Merab Skibo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stamp lands a nice hook to Skibo's body. Skibo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Skibo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stamp sees it coming and avoids it easily. Skibo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stamp tries to avoid it but Skibo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stamp to the ground. Stamp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Stamp throws out a counter right but Skibo avoids it with no problem. Stamp cracks Skibo with a right hand to the side of the head. Stamp cracks Skibo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Stamp connects with the punch. Good exchange - Stamp coming out on top. Skibo fails with the takedown and Stamp counters with a lovely shot to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stamp shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Skibo eats them both and turns towards Stamp to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Stamp has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Stamp lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Skibo looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Skibo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Stamp cracks Skibo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Stamp with a jab. Pete Stamp seems to be getting the better of the standup. Stamp scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Stamp lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Skibo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stamp but Stamp pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stamp lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stamp ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Stamp stuffs the takedown attempt from Skibo. Skibo gets slowly back to his feet. Stamp looks like he wants to counter punch here. Skibo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stamp.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stamp scores with a one two! Skibo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Stamp connects with a body shot that sends Skibo's belly button to the back. Stamp getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Stamp throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

A countering left hand to the body from Stamp misses. Stamp moves into range and connects with a jab. Stamp stuns Skibo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Stamp lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Skibo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Stamp manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Skibo keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the ropes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Skibo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stamp walks away with a smile on his face. Skibo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Stamp lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stamp. Skibo wants to clinch up but Stamp keeps it at a distance. Skibo takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skibo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stamp as he avoids it easily. Stamp swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A jab lands there for Stamp. Stamp dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Skibo gets a double leg takedown into Stamp's guard. Stamp trying to keep a closed guard but Skibo is proving a slippery customer.
Merab Skibo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stamp controlling Skibo's posture. Stamp utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stamp trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stamp not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Skibo trying to control but Stamp is working from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Stamp is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Skibo takes the fight into the clinch. Skibo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Skibo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stamp manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Stamp is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Skibo dives into side control.

Pete Stamp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round! Stamp stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stamp wants it to stay on the feet. Stamp avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Skibo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stamp defends it nicely. Skibo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Stamp wants to sweep here but Skibo controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Skibo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stamp works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stamp is pulling down on Skibo's head. It's preventing any offense from Skibo, at least for the moment. Stamp is looking for a triangle but Skibo pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stamp looking to control.
Stamp is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stamp has control of Skibo's left arm, preventing Skibo from doing any damage. Skibo trying to control but Stamp is working from the bottom. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Skibo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stamp finds it's way round the side to connect with Skibo's head. Skibo takes a body punch but keeps moving. Stamp scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Skibo fails with the takedown. Stamp throws out a counter right but Skibo avoids it with no problem. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stamp connects with a body shot. That's four minutes gone in the round. Skibo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stamp connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Skibo scrambles back to his feet. Stamp lands a nice hook to Skibo's body. Skibo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Skibo wants to clinch and Skibo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Stamp lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Skibo backs up against the ropes.

Stamp lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Skibo tries to clinch but Stamp is having none of it. Stamp lands with a right hand. Merab Skibo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pete Stamp is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sloppy strikes from Stamp. Those never looked like landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Pete Stamp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Stamp winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
