Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Loltez Reno (ranked 3687 p4p, 3748 weight class) and Storm Father (ranked 310 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm Father is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Loltez Reno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Storm Father!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Father wants to clinch.
Father takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Father is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Reno with a body shot.
Father tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reno swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Father closes the distance but Reno moves to the side

and Reno counters with a takedown into side control.
Reno prevents Father from escaping the position.
Father wants to get back to his feet but Reno is dominant here and he's now got Father's back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reno is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Reno continues to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Father wants to get back to his feet.
Reno just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Reno will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Father is trying to get back to his feet but Reno has full control of the position and if anything, Father has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Reno controlling the position well here. Father rolled but Reno kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Father wants to get back to his feet.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Reno controlling the positon.

Father is trying to stand back up.
Reno really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Father.
Reno's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reno controlling from the back.

Father is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Reno misses with an uppercut
and Father counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Father tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reno swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reno moves away from the strike by Father.
Reno attempts a counter takedown but Father avoids it well and moves away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Father throws a shot from downtown. Reno moves away and avoids it.
Reno appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Father loads up on a big right hand but Reno slips the punch.
Reno misses with a shot to the body
and Reno takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Loltez Reno dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Father bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Father wants to counter with a clinch but Reno pushes him away.

It looks like Loltez Reno has been cut.
Father ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reno moves away.
Father tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Reno counters with a shoot takedown. Father fights it but they end up in guard.

Reno gets to his feet - Father follows without any prompting.
Loltez Reno is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Father on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A nice combination there by Reno.
A slow jab from Father misses its intended target.
Reno drops down looking for a counter takedown but Father sprawls and moves away.
Father is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Reno counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Reno stands up out of the half guard.
Father takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Reno lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Father doesn't manage to clinch there - Reno circles away.
Loltez Reno is winning the standup battle so far.
A left and a right from Reno both land. Nice combination.

Father tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reno paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Father drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Father misses with a hook. Reno ducked under it nicely.
Reno moves out of range of the strikes.
Reno feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fathers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Reno counters with a nice double leg into side control. Father won't be happy with that.
Reno happy to just control the position for now.

Reno decides to stand back up. Reno steps back and let's Father get back to his feet.

Reno swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Father, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reno rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Father moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Father walks into a straight right hand from Reno.
Father wants to clinch but Reno slips to the side

and Reno decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Father's guard.
Father is breathing heavily.

Reno decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Father, up you get!
Reno is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Father tries to close the distance and clinch but Reno swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reno throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Father takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Reno is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Father can do to turn this around?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Father is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Reno.
Father misses with a series of wild punches.
Reno half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Reno jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Father walks into a jab.
Father throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Reno sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Father tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reno swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's time! Reno's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Father tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reno manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Reno defending well as Father loads up on a big left hand.
Reno circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reno thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Father if he has to take too many more of those.
Reno tests Father's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Father tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Reno changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Father catches Reno with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Reno is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Father might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Reno tries to counter with a takedown but Father is quick to defend against it.

and Reno counters with a shoot takedown. Father fights it but they end up in guard.
Father takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Father is looking to stand up but Reno isn't so interested in that idea.
Reno's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Loltez Reno overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Father tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reno paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Reno bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Father moves in looking to clinch but Reno pushes him off.
Reno throws a series of punches but Father avoids them all with ease.
Reno circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reno tries to counter with a takedown but Father is quick to defend against it.
Father is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Father tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reno manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Father is looking to clinch but Reno is avoiding it.
Storm Father has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Loltez Reno is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Father uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Reno has time to react.

Well Reno has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
