The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kamenev changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Kamenev (4) vs (0) Scott Scott is not content to let Kamenev control the position. Scott tries to bench press Kamenev off him but Kamenev keeps the position. Kamenev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott seems a little lost for a moment, as Kamenev dominates the positioning.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action here. Scott tries to improve position but can't. Kamenev is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kamenev tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott tries to buck Kamenev off but Kamenev is having none of it. Scott struggling a bit here. Kamenev goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Scott has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kamenev but great work by Scott. Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Kamenev (4) vs (4) Scott Kamenev is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Convicted Top Team, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Scott tries to move to mount but Kamenev blocks the move with his legs. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Kamenev is looking to regain half guard here but Scott keeps moving and retains side control.
