And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 121 wins and 82 losses; Kurt Diesel! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Virus wants to clinch up but Diesel keeps it at a distance. Virus gets a clinch. Virus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Virus jumps guard but Diesel stands there with Virus around his waist. Virus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corona Virus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Virus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Diesel smiles and moves away.

Diesel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Virus tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Diesel just stands there and leans against the ropes. Virus jumps guard and drags Diesel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Diesel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Virus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Diesel content to stall in guard here. Virus manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Virus is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Diesel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Diesel controls from within his opponent's guard.
