Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matti Nypaenen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wilkes Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matti Nypaenen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wilkes Booth!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booth blocks a head kick by Nypaenen.
Nypaenen thows a body kick. Booth tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Nypaenen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Booth feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Booth is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Nypaenen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Booth on the ground.
Nypaenen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nypaenen is trying to control the position but Booth postures up.

Booth postures up in Nypaenen's guard and throws a big left but Nypaenen blocks it.
Booth chips away with some ground and pound.
Nypaenen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Nypaenen is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Booth passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Wilkes Booth dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nypaenen lands with a right hand.
Nypaenen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nypaenen pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Booth drives through with a takedown into guard.
Booth stands and throws Nypaenen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Booth has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Nypaenen is rocked!
Booth is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nypaenen can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Oh Nypaenen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Booth cracks Nypaenen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Booth lands a big shot there that rocks Nypaenen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

John Wilkes Booth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Nypaenen throws a sloppy head kick and Booth moves out of range easily.
Nypaenen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Booth can pounce on him.

Booth shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Booth slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Booth lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). John Wilkes Booth!
