The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makio misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Novak counters with a stiff right hand.
Makio takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Makio has eaten all the pies!
Makio tries to close the distance and clinch but Novak swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Novak takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Makio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Makio lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Novak circles away quickly and effectively.

and Novak counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makio misses with a left hand

and Novak counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Novak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Novak scores with a kick to the body.

Novak feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Makios jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Novak staggers Makio with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Makio looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! No! He's back down again! 9...10 - he's can't beat the count and Novak is victorious!
