Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Owen Tooogood (ranked 2276 p4p, 2527 weight class) and Mateus Nunes (ranked 213 p4p, 235 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Owen Tooogood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mateus Nunes!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunes cracks Tooogood with a good jab.
Mateus Nunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunes throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Tooogood is looking to clinch but Nunes is avoiding it.

As Tooogood backs off Nunes throws a huge counter combo but Tooogood manages to avoid it all.

Nunes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tooogood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nunes tries to avoid it but Tooogood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nunes to the ground. Nunes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nunes closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Tooogood takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tooogood sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Nunes stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Nunes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nunes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tooogood eats them both and turns towards Nunes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Tooogood tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nunes is able to avoid easily.

Tooogood definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Tooogood is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Tooogood ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tooogood no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nunes is working to tighten his grip on Tooogood's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tooogood has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Nunes is really squeezing tight and eventually Tooogood passes out! Nunes breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
