Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dimebag Abbot (ranked 2670 p4p, 3763 weight class) and Wild Eri (ranked 304 p4p, 399 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dimebag Abbot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wild Eri!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eri lunges at Abbot with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Abbot's hand.
Abbot takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Abbot tries to clinch but Eri is having none of it.
Eri misses with an uppercut.
Eri throws a jab when Abbot was well out of range.
Eri misses with a looping right.
A counter left hand to the body from Abbot misses its target.
Eri rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Eri throws a leg kick but Abbot moved away.
Eri throws the left hand but Abbot avoids the punch easily.
Abbot ducks under a wild hook from Eri.
Abbot throws a hook to the side of Eri's head but Eri sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wild Eri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eri misses with a double jab.
Abbot looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Eri tests Abbot's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Abbot keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Eri.
Abbot was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Eri stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Abbot bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Eri throws a quick inside leg kick.
Eri lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abbot circles away quickly and effectively.
Abbot moves out of range of the strikes.
A jab from Eri misses.
Jab, jab by Eri - just one landing.
Eri clobbers Abbot with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Eri misses with a leg kick.
Abbot steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Eri.
Eri gets off balance looking for a body kick
enabling Abbot to counter with a crisp jab.
Eri throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Abbot makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Eri misses with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Abbot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Eri.
Eri throws a lazy uppercut
and Abbot connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Abbot is looking to clinch.

Eri throws a jab but it's blocked by Abbot.
Abbot misses with a wild body shot.
Eri throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Abbot on the side of the head.
Abbot tries to clinch but Eri is having none of it.
Eri throws a body kick that misses.
Abbot gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Eri.
Abbot doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Eri throws a sloppy head kick and Abbot moves out of range easily.
Abbot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Abbot misses with a wild body shot.
Abbot displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Eri throws out the jab.
And Abbot counters with a quick kick to the body but Eri blocks it.
Eri throws a hook to the side of Abbot's head but Abbot sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Abbot fires out a quick counter leg kick but Eri just manages to avoid it.
Eri looks to land a left hand but Abbot moved out of range nicely.
Abbot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Eri checks the leg kick nicely there.

Eri pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Abbot tries to counter by clinching up but Eri breaks away and moves out of range.
Eri scores with a hook to the body. Abbot takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Eri scores with a decent looking hook.
Abbot misses with a hook. Eri ducked under it nicely.
Eri circles away from the clinch attempt.
Eri bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Abbot's head.
Eri connects with a single shot there.
Abbot avoids the body shot from Eri.

Eri throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Abbot needs to keep his hands up - Eri had a free shot at his head there.

Eri fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abbot manages to avoid it.
Abbot throws a counter high kick but Eri was just alert enough to avoid it.

Abbot feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Eri misses with a left hand
and Abbot counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Abbot appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Eri throws a series of punches but Abbot avoids them all with ease.
Eri connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Abbot's hands.
Eri misses with a kick to the body
and Abbot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Eri scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Eri tries to work over Abbot's front leg with a kick but Abbot checks it.
Eri throws a low kick, looking for Abbot's leg but Abbot calmly moves out of range.
Eri throws a lazy head kick
and Abbot counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Eri uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Abbot has time to react.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Eri throws a right and a left that Abbot avoids nicely.
It looked like Abbot wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Eri misses the jab.
Abbot was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Eri connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Eri looks to land a right hand but Abbot moved out of range.

Abbot tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Eri manages to circle out of the way.

It appears Abbot was looking to counter with a kick there.
Eri lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Eri pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abbot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Eri lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abbot circles away quickly and effectively.

Abbot moves into the clinch.
Eri fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Eri takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Abbot tries to work over Eri's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Eri lands a left hand.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Abbot misses with a hook to the ribs.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Abbot blocks an uppercut.
Abbot lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A shot in the inside from Eri.

Abbot fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Abbot pushes Eri back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Eri is breathing heavily.

Abbot lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Eri tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Abbot pulls guard effortlessly.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Abbot is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Eri avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Abbot not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Eri looking to sit in guard and control but Abbot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Eri really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abbot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Abbot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eri swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Abbot's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Eri has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Abbot controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Abbot slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Abbot has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dimebag Abbot will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

As Eri tries to get set, Abbot tries to push him back and clinch up but Eri manages to avoid the attempt.
Eri closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Wild Eri seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Abbot has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Abbot looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Eri fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abbot manages to avoid it.
Abbot tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Eri manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Abbot fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Eri is out of range.
Eri doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Nice defenses there by Abbot.
Abbot moves away from the strike by Eri.
Abbot is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Eri.
Eri throws a lazy uppercut
and Abbot counters with an inside leg kick.

Abbot moves into the clinch.

Abbot gets control of Eri's arms and successfully pulls guard. Abbot will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Abbot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Abbot has his foot on Eri's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Eri works his way back into a safe position though.

Eri loads up on a big right hand but Abbot slips the punch.
Eri throws a good cross that connects.
Eri tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Abbot is able to avoid easily.
Abbot is looking to counter the offense by Eri and move into the clinch.
Abbot takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd cheers as Eri lands an impressive looking overhand right. Abbot doesn't seem phased though.
Abbot wants to clinch up but Eri keeps it at a distance.
Eri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Eri misses with a wild body shot.
Abbot swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Eri looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Abbot wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Eri takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Abbot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Eri.

Abbot tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Eri manages to circle out of the way.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wild Eri comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Eri has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
