The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coppola shoots in for a takedown but John shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
John scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Coppola uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by John.
Coppola walks into a stiff left hand from John.
Coppola is looking to clinch.
Coppola attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
John bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Coppola's head.
It looks like Salvatore Coppola has been cut.
John connects with the punch.
John lands a nice hook to Coppola's body. Coppola takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Coppola throws a sloppy head kick and John moves out of range easily.
John wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
John swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coppola looks up at the clock. Bad move! John lands a right hand from hell, dropping Coppola. John pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sparring John!
Our winner, Sparring John, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
