PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Laar Gamounts (ranked 2980 p4p, 2694 weight class) and Frankie Bruno (ranked 338 p4p, 308 weight class). Frankie Bruno told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Damien Edna and Ben Hemmingworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruno slips under a jab.
Gamounts looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gamounts moves out of range of the strikes.
A shot to the body from Gamounts misses
and Bruno counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Bruno walks into a left hand.

It looks like Frankie Bruno has been cut.
Gamounts swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gamounts shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gamounts, as that shot connected.

Bruno uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gamounts.
Gamounts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bruno was well out of range. Poor timing from Gamounts.

Bruno fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gamounts manages to avoid it.

Gamounts tries to bum rush Bruno with a series of wild strikes but Bruno uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Gamounts throws a looping overhand right but Bruno ducks down to avoid it.

Gamounts sizes up Bruno with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bruno takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The cut above Frankie Bruno's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Bruno's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gamounts connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bruno scrambles back to his feet.

Frankie Bruno's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frankie Bruno's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

In his post fight interview, Laar Gamounts started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
