Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Doe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Hall misses with a takedown attempt. Doe shoots in looking for a takedown but Hall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Doe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hall tries for a takedown. No joy.

Hall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Doe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hall somewhat. Doe pushes Hall up against the cage in a clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hall is defended easily by Doe. We've been informed that Doe has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Doe keeping full guard, as Hall tries to pass. Hall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hall not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hall seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Doe for as long as he can get away with. Hall's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Doe is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Hall off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Hall is riding his opponent, not letting Doe buck him off.
