The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roth blocks a jab.
Roth's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Christ connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Roth scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Philip Roth has been cut.
Christ misses with a head kick.
Roth was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Roth takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Christ throws a sloppy head kick and Roth moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Christ lands a head shot.

Roth ducks straight into an uppercut from Christ and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Roth manages to regain guard straight away.

Roth is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Christ is one step ahead there.

Roth slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Christ gets to his feet. Roth looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A combination from Christ does no damage.
Roth was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Christ connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Roth momentarily.
Christ misses with a body punch
and Roth counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That kick from Christ tenderised Roth's leg. Roth is trying to keep his angry face on.
Christ throws a combination that misses
and Roth counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Christ lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Roth backs up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Christ cracks a nice hook into Roth's ribs.

Christ bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Roth! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Christ tries to free his leg and advance position but Roth is retaining full guard.
Roth controls Christ momentarily but Christ frees himself.

Roth looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Christ passes into half guard.
Christ stalling.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like Christ is going to stand back up.
Roth is looking for a sweep. Christ is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Christ wants to stand up but Roth has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Christ scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Christ dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Philip Roth's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Christ lands a brutal head kick. Roth looks out on his feet and Christ throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
