Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronaldo Gomes!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Porfirigo finds it's way through Gomes's defenses.

and Porfirigo counters with a stiff right hand.

Gomes is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Porfirigo pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Porfirigo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gomes uses from the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gomes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Porfirigo is just riding it out for now. Gomes eventually gives up the hold.

Gomes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Porfirigo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gomes, into his guard.
Gomes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Porfirigo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gomes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Porfirigo defends it easily.
Gomes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Porfirigo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Porfirigo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Gomes is looking to sweep but instead, Porfirigo has passed into half guard.

Porfirigo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Porfirigo stands and steps away. Gomes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Porfirigo manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Porfirigo comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Gomes is rocked!
Porfirigo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gomes is trying to keep an underhook but Porfirigo manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Gomes is still in real trouble! Can Porfirigo finish him?
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Porfirigo connects with a nice short shot to Gomes's temple.

and Porfirigo counters with a big right hand! Oh Gomes is in trouble here! Porfirigo follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
