Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Cooper (ranked 2099 p4p, 2399 weight class) and Timofey Babinski (ranked 138 p4p, 153 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timofey Babinski!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper misses with a wild body shot.
It seemed like Babinski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Cooper scores with a body shot.
Cooper throws the left hand but Babinski avoids the punch easily.
Babinski throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cooper counters with a nice uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cooper. Babinski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Babinski throws out a counter right but Cooper avoids it with no problem.
Cooper shoots in but Babinski avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Babinski throws a leg kick but Cooper moved away.
Cooper avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Cooper scores with a hook to the body. Babinski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cooper has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Cooper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Babinski avoids it really well and circles away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Babinski! But no joy.

and Cooper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Babinski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cooper throws out the jab.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Babinski, as that shot connected.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cooper swings for the body but Babinski moves out of range.
Cooper swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Babinski lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Babinski throws a lazy right hand but Cooper sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Timofey Babinski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cooper fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cooper tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Babinski was well out of range. Poor timing from Cooper.
Babinski is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Cooper with a body shot.
Babinski is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cooper lands a really nice looking cross but Babinski seems unphased.

Matt Cooper's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

and Babinski counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cooper! Babinski lets Cooper back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Cooper is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Babinski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Cooper is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

and Babinski counters with a crisp right that sends Cooper to the canvas! Babinski follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
