Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 23556 p4p, 23408 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 35 - 75 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 53 - 59 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Amiga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Salvacion shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Amiga pinned against the cage. Amiga gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Amiga throws a quick counter kick to the body but Salvacion avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Amiga defends well and Salvacion ends up having to push Amiga into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Salvacion is defended easily by Amiga. It appears Amiga was looking to counter with a kick there. Tapad Amiga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Salvacion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amiga gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Amiga has his hands on Salvacion's head, controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salvacion won't allow Amiga to sweep him here. Amiga has his foot on Salvacion's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Salvacion works his way back into a safe position though. Amiga wants to sweep but no luck. Salvacion controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amiga looking for a sweep. Not yet Amiga, not yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Salvacion shoots in for a takedown but Amiga shows good takedown defense. Salvacion looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amiga is fending him off so far but Salvacion persists. Nope, Amiga circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Amiga looks for a takedown but Salvacion sprawls well. Salvacion feints a counter leg kick. Amiga shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Salvacion defends it nicely. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rico Salvacion dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Nice sprawl there from Amiga as Salvacion shoots in. Amiga shoots in but no luck this time. Salvacion scores with a takedown into Amiga's guard. Amiga is pulling down on Salvacion's head. It's preventing any offense from Salvacion, at least for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amiga striking off his back but it's not causing Salvacion any problems. Amiga controlling Salvacion's posture. Salvacion's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Amiga trying to keep a closed guard but Salvacion is proving a slippery customer.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Salvacion stays in close to Amiga's body and controls the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Amiga shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Amiga was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Amiga throws an elbow but Salvacion slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amiga happy to just control the position for now. Salvacion holds on to Amiga's head and controls the position momentarily. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Amiga taking a breather here. Rico Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far. Amiga wants to control but Salvacion is keeping him busy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salvacion wants to control but Amiga postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tapad Amiga dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Amiga shoots in and drives through. Salvacion sprawls well. Salvacion scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Amiga sneaks out the side door and pushes Salvacion away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Amiga misses with a takedown attempt - Salvacion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Salvacion counters with a body kick. Salvacion stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Salvacion wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amiga misses with a takedown attempt - Salvacion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Amiga manages to step out the way in time. Nice takedown defense from Salvacion. No joy for Amiga on that attempt. Amiga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Salvacion counters with a takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salvacion controlling the position from side mount. Amiga managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Salvacion.
Salvacion taking a breather here. Salvacion is continuing to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Amiga's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Salvacion throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Salvacion in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Amiga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Salvacion counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Salvacion. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salvacion loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Salvacion postures up.

And that's the end of the fight! Rico Salvacion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
