PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willis Williams (ranked 3962 p4p, 25234 weight class) and Bahlar Dohaert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willis Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bahlar Dohaert!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams pushes Dohaert up against the cage in a clinch.
Dohaert tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Williams can't get the takedown.
Dohaert is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Williams tries to land a knee to the head but Dohaert blocks with his arms.
Dohaert is looking for a takedown.
Willis Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bahlar Dohaert.
Williams tries for a takedown. No joy.
Williams lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dohaert backwards.
Williams tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dohaert smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dohaert rushes Williams and presses him up against the cage.
Williams has Dohaert pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dohaert manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Dohaert drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dohaert stops a takedown attempt from Williams.
Dohaert drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Williams misses with an elbow strike.
Dohaert blocks the elbow strike.
Williams throws an elbow that misses.
Dohaert gets underhooks to prevent Williams's takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Williams has hold of one of Dohaert's legs. Dohaert is fighting the takedown attempt but Williams gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Williams won't allow Dohaert to sweep him here.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dohaert on the ground.
Dohaert is pulling down on Williams's head. It's preventing any offense from Williams, at least for the moment.

Williams postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dohaert is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Williams, into his guard.

Dohaert advances position into side control!

Dohaert landing strikes.
Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.
Williams is trying to control Dohaert's posture but Dohaert avoids it.
Dohaert content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Williams is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dohaert's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Williams looking for submissions off his back.
Williams wants to control but Dohaert is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Willis Williams will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Williams has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dohaert stops a takedown attempt from Williams.
Williams is looking to take this one to the mat.
Williams prevents Dohaert from breaking the clinch.
Williams throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Dohaert jumps guard but Williams turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dohaert with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dohaert wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dohaert avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Williams just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dohaert's brow.
Dohaert fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dohaert swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dohaert wants a takedown.
Dohaert is trying to force a seperation but Williams has the dominant position.
Williams misses with a knee to the head.
Williams jumps guard but Dohaert stands there with Williams around his waist. Williams gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dohaert is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Williams to keep the fight standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dohaert successfully pulls guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dohaert holds on and takes a little breather.

Williams is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Williams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Dohaert has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.

Williams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dohaert is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dohaert has escaped and now he's on top!


Dohaert avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Williams is looking for a triangle but Dohaert pushes his legs off easily.

Dohaert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Williams has his foot on Dohaert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dohaert works his way back into a safe position though.

Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dohaert doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Williams is tightening it up a little... Dohaert has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dohaert reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dohaert taps out! Nice BJJ there by Williams!
