Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ardbeg Islay (ranked 885 p4p, 1820 weight class) and Javon Jefferson (ranked 116 p4p, 211 weight class). Jefferson has chosen Zoey Dollaz - It's Ok (feat. A Boogie wit da Hoodie) as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ardbeg Islay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Javon Jefferson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Islay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Islay tries to counter with a takedown but Jefferson is quick to defend against it. Jefferson's coach down at Gold Samurai\'s Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jefferson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Jefferson throws a big shot that misses. As Jefferson tries to get set, Islay tries to push him back and clinch up but Jefferson manages to avoid the attempt. Jefferson lands a slapping body shot.
Islay throws a body shot but no joy. Jefferson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Islay. Good exchange - Jefferson coming out on top. Jefferson misses the jab. Jefferson lands with an overhand left. Islay shoots for a double leg takedown but Jefferson sprawls well. He's pushed Islay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jefferson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jefferson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Islay moves away. Jefferson throws a lazy body kick so Islay counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Islay scoring with some ground and pound. Jefferson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Islay manages to pass to side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jefferson can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jefferson is trying to stand up here but Islay is controlling him well. Islay scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Islay is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Jefferson is looking to escape. Jefferson pushes Islay off but Islay dives into side control.
Islay controls the position from side control. Islay prevents Jefferson from escaping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Islay looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Jefferson is looking to get back to his feet here but Islay is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jefferson's back. Islay landing with strikes. Jefferson wants to get back to his feet. Oooh a big shot gets through from Islay. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Islay controlling the position well here. Jefferson rolled but Islay kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Jefferson is trying to get back to his feet but Islay has full control of the position and if anything, Jefferson has just worked his way into a worse spot. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Islay connects with a big shot to the side of Jefferson's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Islay lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Islay's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Islay really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Jefferson. Jefferson wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Islay lands punches and elbows. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ardbeg Islay dominated that round. That's time! Islay's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Islay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jefferson pinned against the cage. Jefferson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jefferson scores with a jab. Islay instigates a clinch. Islay is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jefferson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Islay is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jefferson pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ardbeg Islay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jefferson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jefferson cracks Islay with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice body punch from Jefferson. Islay tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jefferson defends well and Islay ends up having to push Jefferson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jefferson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jefferson is trying to pull guard but Islay has him pressed against the cage. Islay can't get the takedown.
Jefferson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Islay is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jefferson can do to turn this around? Islay misses the shot to the body. Jefferson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jefferson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Islay on the side of the head. Jefferson cracks Islay with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Jefferson lands a jab-cross combination. Javon Jefferson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jefferson throws a body punch but Islay moves out of range. Nice defenses there by Islay. Islay feinted with a counter takedown. Jefferson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jefferson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jefferson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Islay dives into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Islay advances nicely into full mount. Jefferson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Jefferson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Islay takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Islay scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jefferson?

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jefferson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jefferson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Islay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Islay pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jefferson is trying to stand. Islay trying to control but Jefferson is having none of it. Islay lands a big elbow. Jefferson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Islay connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ardbeg Islay will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Islay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Islay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jefferson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Islay is controlling him well. Ardbeg Islay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Islay trying to control the action but Jefferson is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jefferson is trying to buck Islay off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Islay looks up at the clock and then as Jefferson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Islay smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jefferson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Islay asserts his dominance and retains side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ardbeg Islay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Islay misses the body punch and Jefferson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Islay gets a double leg takedown into Jefferson's guard. Jefferson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Islay trying to control the position from guard on top but Jefferson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Islay landing some decent shots from guard. Jefferson wants to get back to his feet but Islay is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Islay content to stall in guard here. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jefferson is looking to stand up but Islay isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Islay throws out a loose jab but Jefferson uses good head movement to avoid it. Jefferson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Islay closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jefferson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Islay scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ardbeg Islay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Islay lands a nice short elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Islay stalling. Islay moves nicely into side control. Islay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jefferson is trying to get back to his feet. Islay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jefferson keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jefferson is pushing Islay's head away, looking to escape. Islay manages to hold on to the position though. Javon Jefferson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Ardbeg Islay showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Islay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
