Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Quinton Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nils Fjellstroem! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ellis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fjellstroem sprawls well initially but Ellis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fjellstroem is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ellis pulls his head out easily. Ellis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ellis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fjellstroem's head. Fjellstroem keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ellis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fjellstroem defends it well. Fjellstroem has hold of Ellis's hands but Ellis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Fjellstroem looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fjellstroem is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ellis pulls his head out easily. Ellis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ellis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fjellstroem does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Fjellstroem is trying to control but can't.

Fjellstroem keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ellis is thwarting Fjellstroem's attempts to control the position. Fjellstroem actively working from the bottom here. Fjellstroem felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. That's four minutes gone in the round. Fjellstroem has hold of Ellis's hands but Ellis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Fjellstroem keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ellis is thwarting Fjellstroem's attempts to control the position. Ellis working Fjellstroem over with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fjellstroem is trying to maintain the position but Ellis is very close to passing his half guard. Fjellstroem slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fjellstroem has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ellis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ellis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Quinton Ellis dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ellis avoids the head kick by Fjellstroem.
Fjellstroem lands a big head kick that sends Ellis tumbling to the mat! Fjellstroem takes a step backwards and waves Ellis back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Ellis is rocked!
It looks like Quinton Ellis has been cut. Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Fjellstroem! This one is all over!
