Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23525 p4p, 23485 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 66 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 62 - 51 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nice sprawl there from Buut as Buktot shoots in.
Buut counters with a body kick.
Buut shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Buktot defends it nicely.
Buktot half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buut is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Buktot's half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Buktot is looking to control Buut's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Buktot avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Buut keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Buktot is doing well to control the position and prevent Buut from advancing to side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Buut content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Buktot keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Buut looks for a takedown but Buktot sprawls well.
Buktot half committed to a counter leg kick.

Buut drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Buktot pulls Buut in close to his closed guard and prevents Buut from doing any damage or advancing position.
Buut slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Buktot looking to hit a scissor sweep but Buut is one step ahead there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Walay Buut dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Buktot.
Buut thinks about the counter body kick.
Buktot slaps away a takedown attempt from Buut, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buktot darts in looking for a takedown but Buut gets double underhooks and turns Buktot into the cage.
Buut changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Buut has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Buktot after a bit of a struggle.

Buktot tightens his grip and picks Buut up, before dumping him to the ground. Buut manages to land in guard.
Buktot trying to control but Buut is working from the bottom.
Buut looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buktot engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Buut is pulling down on Buktot's head to control his posture.
Buut being controlled here, momentarily.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Buktot gets the takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buktot working away.
Buut holding on.
A lull in the action here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buut is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dawindi Buktot dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Buut shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Buktot wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buut not doing much here.
Buktot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Buut is working away from the top position though.
Buut has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Buktot strikes from the bottom but Buut uses the opportunity to move to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Buktot's face as Buut controls the position.
Buktot is trying to control Buut's posture but Buut avoids it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Buktot tries to score a power double leg takedown but Buut sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buktot somewhat.
Buut is trying to counter with his kicks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Buut throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Buktot tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Buut is in Buktot's guard.
Buktot is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Buktot is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Buut controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buut stopping the sweep attempt from Buktot.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
Walay Buut comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Buut has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
