The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Garcia clinches with his opponent.
Everett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Garcia smiles and moves away.
Everett has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Everett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Garcia circles away. We've been told by Garcia's head coaches at Gonzasco Hydropathy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Garcia gets in close and instigates a clinch. Everett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Garcia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ceferino Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Filmore Everett. Garcia has managed to pull guard.
