And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 28 wins and 26 losses; Uncle Abner!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Abner closes the distance and clinches.
Abner changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pawn fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Nate Pawn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uncle Abner.

Pawn is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Abner can't fight it off and eventually Pawn manages to take the fight to the floor. Abner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pawn is pushing down on Abner's leg trying to pass to half guard. Abner is fighting to maintain full guard but Pawn has managed to sneak the leg through.

Pawn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Abner is just riding it out for now. Pawn eventually gives up the hold.

Abner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pawn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've been informed that Abner has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Abner is looking for a triangle but Pawn pushes his legs off easily.

Abner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pawn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pawn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Abner's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Abner has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Pawn's body.

I really don't envy Pawn right now.

Pawn trying to control the action but Abner just sinks the hooks in.
Pawn is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Abner.

Abner has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Pawn! Can he survive? No! He's out! Abner gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
