Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randell Robertson (ranked 3197 p4p, 4775 weight class) and Xi Daerji (ranked 297 p4p, 0 weight class). Xi Daerji has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randell Robertson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robertson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Daerji! Daerji sneaks out the side door and pushes Robertson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Robertson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robertson wants it to stay on the feet. Daerji throws a head kick that misses. Robertson slaps away a takedown attempt from Daerji, before circling back to the center of the mat. Robertson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Daerji tries to keep at a distance but Robertson has taken the fight into the clinch. Robertson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Daerji walks away with a smile on his face. Robertson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. This has been an exciting period of action! Daerji throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Robertson's waist but Robertson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daerji off to one side. Randell Robertson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xi Daerji. Daerji tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Robertson is looking to clinch but Daerji is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Robertson gets tackled into the cage by Daerji. Daerji maintains the clinch. Robertson tries to pull guard but Daerji won't allow it.
Robertson has hold of one of Daerji's legs. Daerji is fighting the takedown attempt but Robertson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Daerji pulls Robertson in close to prevent any damage. Robertson trying to control the position from guard on top but Daerji is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Daerji has his hands on Robertson's head, controlling the position. Daerji is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson wanted to stand there but Daerji had control of the position. Daerji trying to keep a closed guard but Robertson is proving a slippery customer.
Robertson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Robertson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Robertson trying to control but Daerji is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Robertson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Daerji counters by clinching up. Daerji blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Robertson takes a shot to the head. Daerji pulls guard successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Robertson controlling the position from side mount. Daerji tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Robertson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Daerji is not content to let Robertson control the position. Robertson is trying to get an arm triangle but Daerji is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daerji is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Xi Daerji will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Daerji misses with a body kick. Daerji dives in and grabs Robertson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Robertson pushes down on Daerji's head and hops out. Daerji tries to clinch up. Daerji takes the fight into the clinch. Robertson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Robertson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Daerji, pushing him back against the cage. Robertson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Daerji to keep the fight standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Robertson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Daerji keeping full guard, as Robertson tries to pass. Daerji scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Robertson has managed to clinch.
Robertson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randell Robertson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robertson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nice takedown defense from Daerji. No joy for Robertson on that attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Robertson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Daerji clinches with his opponent.
Daerji prevents Robertson from breaking the clinch. Daerji wants to break free but Robertson has control.
Daerji's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Daerji shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Daerji showed some decent athleticism there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Daerji decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Daerji has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Robertson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Robertson as Daerji shoots in. Robertson slaps away a takedown attempt from Daerji, before circling back to the center of the mat. Robertson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Daerji tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Robertson defends well and Daerji ends up having to push Robertson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Robertson missing with a left hand there. Daerji was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Daerji. Robertson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Daerji is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Robertson dives into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Daerji wants to get back to his feet but Robertson drags him back down. Robertson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Daerji will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Robertson advances nicely into full mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Xi Daerji will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Robertson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Daerji pinned against the cage. Daerji gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Daerji shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Robertson defends it nicely. Daerji takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

That's one minute gone in the round. Robertson is really struggling to control Daerji but he's trying to hold on to the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Daerji looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Robertson is trying to control the position but Daerji postures up. Daerji gets to his feet - Robertson follows without any prompting. Daerji shoots in looking for a takedown but Robertson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Daerji's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Daerji shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Daerji was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robertson throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Daerji throws an elbow but Robertson slips to the side and avoids it well. Robertson struggling a bit here. Robertson prevents Daerji from moving into mount. Daerji wants to lay and pray for a moment but Robertson keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robertson bucks up and tries to throw Daerji off but instead Daerji has got his back! Daerji throwing sloppy strikes. Robertson is trying to break free.
Daerji working for a choke but Robertson is defending well. Daerji wants to control the position but Robertson frees himself and scrambles - Daerji manages to regain control in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daerji misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Daerji is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Robertson has escaped the position, nice work there. Robertson is trying to control Daerji's posture but Daerji avoids it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Robertson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Randell Robertson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Xi Daerji is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Xi Daerji has got the better of the ground game so far. Robertson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Xi Daerji comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Daerji winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
