Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kimmo Peramaki (ranked 830 p4p, 2498 weight class) and Mehdi Kanaani (ranked 92 p4p, 233 weight class). Kanaani has chosen Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg - Nuthin' But A G Thang as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mehdi Kanaani struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanaani takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Mehdi Kanaani has been cut.
Kanaani has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kanaani misses with a hook.
Peramaki throws a big counter combination but Kanaani scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
No joy there for Peramaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kanaani swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Peramaki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kanaani throws a lazy right hand but Peramaki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Peramaki tries to counter by clinching up but Kanaani breaks away and moves out of range.
Peramaki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kanaani connects with a good right hand that stumbles Peramaki. Peramaki circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peramaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kanaani circles away quickly and effectively.
Kanaani keeps the fight on the outside.

Peramaki rushes Kanaani and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Peramaki misses with a shot to the kidneys.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
