Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hard Hitter (ranked 4057 p4p, 4172 weight class) and Patrick Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hard Hitter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Patrick Kelly! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hitter defends well and Kelly ends up having to push Hitter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kelly misses with a takedown attempt - Hitter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hitter throws a big counter combination but Kelly scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Hitter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kelly shoots in but Hitter avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hard Hitter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kelly. Kelly tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hitter swivels and escapes. Kelly will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hitter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hitter lands in his opponent's guard. Kelly is looking to stand up but Hitter isn't so interested in that idea. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hitter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kelly is proving hard to escape from. Kelly wants to stand up but Hitter is controlling him. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hitter's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kelly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hitter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kelly is trying to keep Hitter in close.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kelly is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hitter drives through with a takedown into guard. Kelly wants to stand but Hitter is controlling the position. Hitter content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hitter tries to stand but Kelly is controlling from the bottom. Hitter content to stall in guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Hitter drops back looking for a leg! Kelly is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kelly manages to kick Hitter off! Hitter jumps back into Kelly's guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kelly forces Hitter back against the cage and clinches. Kelly is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hitter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Hitter tries to advance to mount but can't. The referee asks Hitter politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hitter prefers to stall for the moment though. Hitter working away. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hitter tries to stand but Kelly controls the position and pulls Hitter into his guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hard Hitter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Kelly thumps Hitter with a low kick. Hitter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hitter controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitter looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Kelly wants to control but Hitter is keeping busy.
Kelly wants to get back to full guard but Hitter has mounted him! Hitter controlling the position easily from mount. Hitter swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kelly is now in Hitter's guard. A big mistake from Hitter there, giving up the dominant position!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hitter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hitter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kelly wants to improve his position but Hitter is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hitter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Hitter winds up and cracks Kelly with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hitter scores with a couple of nice shots. Hitter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hitter trying to mount his opponent but Kelly defends it. Hitter controlling the pace. Kelly wants to improve his position but Hitter is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hitter wants to get back to his feet.
Kelly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hitter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kelly gets full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kelly has a closed guard, preventing Hitter from standing up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hard Hitter dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Kelly throws a head kick that half lands.
Hitter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hitter showed some decent athleticism there. Still in half guard, Hitter seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hitter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kelly knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelly looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hitter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kelly can do to turn this around? Hitter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kelly has managed to free his arm - good work. Hitter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hitter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hitter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kelly works his way to full guard. Good work. Hitter trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kelly's guard. Hitter controls from within his opponent's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hitter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hitter but Hitter pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kelly fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kelly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hitter drives through with a takedown into guard. Kelly manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Kelly has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hitter after a bit of a struggle. Hard Hitter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kelly. Hitter jumps guard.
Hitter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kelly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hitter has his foot on Kelly's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kelly works his way back into a safe position though. Hitter wants to stand but Kelly is controlling the position. Kelly looking to pass the guard. Kelly wants to control from the top but Hitter keeps moving. Patrick Kelly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hard Hitter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hitter pulls Kelly in close to prevent any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Hard Hitter showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hitter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
