PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Harrison (ranked 906 p4p, 1494 weight class) and George Pogie (ranked 64 p4p, 110 weight class). Harrison comes to the cage accompanied by All of the Above. Pogie has chosen Nobody’s Angel as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Pogie!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison lands a really nice looking cross but Pogie seems unphased.
Harrison swings widly with a right hand
and Pogie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pogie shoots in for a double leg but Harrison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Harrison scores with a jab. Pogie acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Harrison keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pogie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Harrison stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harrison wants it to stay on the feet.
Michael Harrison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Pogie.
Pogie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And Pogie tries to counter it with a takedown but Harrison pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pogie shoots in for a takedown but Harrison shows good takedown defense.
Harrison throws a lazy right hand but Pogie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pogie shoots in and drives through. Harrison sprawls well.
Harrison throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pogie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harrison.
Pogie tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Harrison clobbers Pogie with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Harrison drops Pogie with a beautiful combination! Pogie stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Harrison is looking for the KO!

Pogie is rocked!

It looks like George Pogie has been cut.
Harrison throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pogie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pogie is still on wobbly legs! Can Harrison finish him?
Pogie looks winded!
Pogie ducks under a wild hook from Harrison.
Pogie seems to have recovered his senses.
Pogie looks up at the clock. Bad move! Harrison lands a right hand from hell, dropping Pogie. Harrison pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Harrison!
Michael Harrison decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
