Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 24 - 1, fighting out of New York, The Royal Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Benson Beckley! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Savage fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Savage misses with a short punch on the inside. Beckley lands a good knee to the midsection. Savage won't want to take too many of those. Beckley has Savage pressed against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Savage. Beckley manages to pull guard.
Beckley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Savage defends it easily. Beckley has his foot on Savage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Savage works his way back into a safe position though. Beckley preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Savage throws a sloppy strike and Beckley has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Savage is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Beckley!
