Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kip Stern (ranked 565 p4p, 347 weight class) and Kaarlo Susi (ranked 76 p4p, 46 weight class). Stern comes to the cage accompanied by Fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kip Stern!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaarlo Susi!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern looks for the body kick but Susi saw that one coming.
Stern uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Susi.
Susi lands a really nice looking cross but Stern seems unphased.
Susi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Susi connects with an inside leg kick.
Susi throws an overhand right that lands on Stern's shoulder, as Stern tries to avoid the shot.
Stern is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stern has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stern there as he acknowledges the shot.
Susi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Susi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stern manages to avoid it.

Stern tries to score with a low kick but Susi moves his leg out of the way.
Susi now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
A big right from Stern misses.
A jab from Stern does it's job there.
Stern misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stern pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Susi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Good work by Susi as he checks the leg kick.
Stern shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Susi pinned against the cage. Susi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Susi throws a right hand that misses
and Stern counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Stern scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Susi takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Stern throws a leg kick but Susi moved away.
Susi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Stern looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stern connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Susi looks to land a right hand but Stern moved out of range.
Stern lands a nice hook to Susi's body. Susi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Susi counters with a straight right hand.
Stern drives through with a takedown into Susi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Stern has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Stern postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stern accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Stern takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Stern manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Susi on his heels. He'll look to pass Susi's guard now, I'm sure.
Stern is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Susi can do to turn this around?
Susi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stern controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stern loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Stern wants to control from the top but Susi keeps moving.

Stern has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Susi is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Susi has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Stern feints and then cracks Susi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Susi down.
Stern throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Susi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Stern throws a good cross that connects.
Susi misses with a hook
and Stern counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stern jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Susi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's time! Stern's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
The crowd cheers as Susi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stern doesn't seem phased though.

Susi moves forwards but Stern connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A looping hook to the body misses from Susi. Stern does a little dance to reset his feet.

enabling Stern to counter with a crisp jab.

Susi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Stern tries to land a front kick but Susi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Susi throws a jab when Stern was well out of range.

Susi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stern attempts a counter takedown but Susi avoids it well and moves away.
Stern lands a leg kick that knocks Susi off balance momentarily.
Susi scores with a jab. Stern acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Stern plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Susi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stern was well out of range. Poor timing from Susi.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Susi throws a low kick, looking for Stern's leg but Stern calmly moves out of range.
Stern tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that's the end of the fight!
Kip Stern showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Stern has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
