PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Dolton (ranked 3460 p4p, 3216 weight class) and The Devils Outlaw (ranked 125 p4p, 121 weight class). Dolton comes to the cage accompanied by Paradise Warfare. Outlaw has chosen For The Outlawz by Moonshine Bandits as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Dolton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 23 - 1, fighting out of New York, The Devils Outlaw!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dolton slips a straight right by Outlaw.
Dolton fails with the takedown.

Dolton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Dolton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Outlaw defends it well.
Dolton throwing shots but Outlaw is blocking nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dolton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dolton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Outlaw sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dolton looking for a submission but Outlaw manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Outlaw wants to stand but Dolton is controlling the position.
Dolton with a flurry of punches that miss.
We've been hearing good reports from Dolton's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Outlaw is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Outlaw scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dolton in his tracks.
Scott Dolton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dolton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dolton tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
The Devils Outlaw is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dolton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Outlaw but Outlaw pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Dolton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dolton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Outlaw's waist but Outlaw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dolton off to one side.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Outlaw! But no joy.
Outlaw swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Outlaw cracks Dolton with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Outlaw has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dolton to stand back up!

It looks like Scott Dolton has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dolton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Outlaw.
Dolton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Outlaw.
Outlaw looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Dolton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dolton fails with the takedown
and Outlaw counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Dolton off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Outlaw follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Dolton was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). The Devils Outlaw!
The Devils Outlaw seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Scott Dolton had this to say: 'It is a joke? Let's start it over again.'.
