Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Yergin (ranked 23369 p4p, 4578 weight class) and Howie Travis (ranked 263 p4p, 208 weight class). Howie Travis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Yergin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howie Travis! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Travis rushes Yergin and presses him up against the cage. Yergin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Travis makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Yergin is trying to pull guard but Travis has him pressed against the cage. Travis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Travis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Yergin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Travis lands a head shot. Yergin ducks under a wild hook from Travis. Yergin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Travis connects with a leg kick. Travis loads up on a big right hand but Yergin slips the punch. Yergin moves forwards but Travis connects with a nice, crisp jab. Travis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Howie Travis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Travis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yergin feinted with a counter takedown. Travis gets a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Travis softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Yergin jumps guard but Travis stands there with Yergin around his waist. Yergin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Yergin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Travis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Yergin successfully pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Travis wants to stand but Yergin is controlling his posture from full guard. Yergin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Travis trying to stand up but can't free himself from Yergin's guard. Yergin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Travis defends well. Travis postures up and lands a big shot to Yergin's brow. Travis is looking to stand up but Yergin won't let him. Travis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Travis with a flurry of punches that miss. Yergin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Travis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Travis wants to stand but Yergin is controlling his posture from full guard. Yergin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yergin tries to get out of the position. Travis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yergin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Travis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Travis wanted to stand there but Yergin had control of the position. Yergin has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Travis should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Yergin has tightened it up now! Travis should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
