The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Rivera rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hong counters with a nice uppercut.
Rivera drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hong wants to get back to his feet.
Rivera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rivera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hong has escaped the position, nice work there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hong can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rivera seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
