Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akahoshi Hisashi (ranked 516 p4p, 242 weight class) and Paavo Talvela (ranked 78 p4p, 39 weight class). Hisashi comes to the cage accompanied by Feng Shui. Talvela has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Akahoshi Hisashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paavo Talvela!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talvela with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hisashi to score with a decent uppercut.
The fighters circling - Hisashi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hisashi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Talvela cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hisashi throws out a loose jab but Talvela uses good head movement to avoid it.
Talvela tries a low kick but Hisashi avoids it.
It looked like Hisashi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Talvela has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hisashi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Talvela shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hisashi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Talvela - the referee stops the clock and Hisashi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Talvela. Hisashi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Talvela bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Talvela wants to take a breather but Hisashi manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Talvela.
Talvela postures up in Hisashi's guard and throws a big left but Hisashi blocks it.
Hisashi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Talvela slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Talvela stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hisashi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hisashi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Talvela stacks Hisashi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Talvela!
Talvela is putting a hurting on Hisashi here, landing some big shots from side control.

Talvela tries to score with some ground and pound. Hisashi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Hisashi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hisashi has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Talvela is trying to control. Hisashi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Talvela working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hisashi is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Talvela jumps into side control!
