Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Lawson (ranked 4569 p4p, 3552 weight class) and Zhandouji Quantou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson misses with the combination.
Quantou fails with a takedown attempt.
Lawson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Quantou checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Quantou counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lawson won't be happy with that.
Lawson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Lawson is breathing heavily.
Quantou really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lawson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Quantou is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Lawson has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Quantou has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Lawson taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Quantou doesn't care though - he's delighted!
