Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andre Mason (ranked 3310 p4p, 5018 weight class) and Bayu Prasetya (ranked 317 p4p, 401 weight class). Bayu Prasetya is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bayu Prasetya!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mason looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mason wants to stand up but Prasetya has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Mason wants to stand but Prasetya has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Prasetya working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mason doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mason manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mason got a little sloppy there for a moment and Prasetya has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mason has managed to get both his arms back between Prasetya's legs - danger averted.
Mason really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mason looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Mason digs a right hand underneath Prasetya's ribcage. Prasetya let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Prasetya jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mason walks away with a smile on his face. Prasetya gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Andre Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mason bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Prasetya dives in for a single leg takedown but Mason sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mason decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mason seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Mason fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Prasetya sprawls well initially but Mason persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mason manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Prasetya keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prasetya gets caught flat footed, as Mason shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Prasetya escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mason gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Prasetya has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mason is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Prasetya.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mason here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Mason looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Prasetya with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Mason is nestled in close to Prasetya, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mason connects with a nice short shot to Prasetya's temple.

Mason feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
