Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sisu Ilmarinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Artemis Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ilmarinen lands a glancing blow to the side of Rhodes's head.
Rhodes throws a shot from downtown. Ilmarinen moves away and avoids it.
Ilmarinen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Rhodes manages to circle out of the way.
Ilmarinen slips under a jab from Rhodes.
Ilmarinen swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Ilmarinen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Artemis Rhodes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ilmarinen throws out a loose jab but Rhodes uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rhodes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Sisu Ilmarinen has been cut.
Nice uppercut there from Rhodes.
Ilmarinen misses with the combination.
Rhodes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rhodes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ilmarinen on the side of the head.
Sisu Ilmarinen's cut is getting worse.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
and Rhodes counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Ilmarinen! He's just covering up as Rhodes starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Artemis Rhodes!
Artemis Rhodes really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Furnace Performance 🔥 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
